2-4. Home Ownership
  To have the information on home ownership in one place, this Chapter has gathered together material on home ownership that was included in a number of other chapters. This Chapter has also been updated for the housing price survey from Royal LePage, and rates for housing starts and interest rates.
 
2-7. Planning for the Disabled
  This new Chapter has been added to address planning for the disabled. To have the information in one place, this Chapter has gathered together material that was included in a number of other chapters, and added the provisions of the new Registered Disability Savings Plan and the use of a Henson Trust.
 
3-3. Federal Budgets
  This Chapter includes the proposals in the Federal Budget of February 26, 2008 including the introduction of the Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) and the changes to the Dividend Tax Credit.
 
3-12. Taxation of Capital Property
  This Chapter has been updated to include current examples and material has been added on intergenerational rollovers of farming and fishing property.
 
3-13. More Taxation of Capital Property
  This Chapter has been updated to include the new limit of $750,000 for cumulative lifetime capital gains exemptions for capital gains from a disposition of qualified farming property, qualified fishing property and qualified small business corporation shares. The Chapter also includes current examples and material has been added on use of the lifetime capital gains exemption.

  The Chapter has been updated for the 2008 federal income tax factors, prescribed interest rates, Canada Pension Plan contribution rates, automobile deductions and benefits, and the latest statistics on the Consumer Price Index.
